Buying 'off the peg' travel insurance can be tricky for those with pre-existing medical conditions, but don't be tempted to ignore your medical history when looking for travel insurance. You could be left with a heavy bill for repatriation costs and hospital expenses if you have failed to disclose a pre-existing medical condition to your insurer.
